DANCING IS THE BEST EXERCISE!

TNVS Students move to the groove during the culminating of the Nutrition Month 2011 that was held on 29th of July 2011.It was participated, aside from the students,by the TNVS teachers and was spearheaded by the School Principal,Mr.Ronelo S. Alegada,of course with the theme “Isulong ang Breastfeeding;Tama,Sapat at Ekslusibo.”Everyone seemed to enjoy because we believe that one way to attain a healthy body is to have our daily exercise. And the best exercise that we can do aside from going to gym is to simply DANCE!

SSG Officers of  Toledo National Vocational School actively participated the Intramurals 2011 last July 11.They supervised the “pakulos” such as greetings, dedications and handcap. They made it to let the students who are not athletes enjoy this activity and make this experience memorable to them.

Our journey in Camp Blog 2011 will almost end.But the learnings that we have right now will be kept on ourselves forever.Although, there are some times that we need to strengthen our hearts and minds because of the unexpected things that will happen in this training. And I can never forget that.

At first,I thought that this seminar is just like what everybody elses know but no!I’m wrong. It is a seminar that is full of different sides on itself.

I was so shocked when they said that our works-school and personal blogs, will be criticized by Mr.Jose Torres via skype because I was used to criticize my work by our teacher secretly. Then,at that moment I can’t feel my nerves. But I realized that it’s really for our own good.

I am not a Photojournalist cause I used to be Editorialist but that theory changed when Mr.Jimmy Dominggo took over the lecture. There,I understand the meaning of Photography, especially when we applied it to our fieldwork.

But the most thing that I can’t forget in camp was when Mam Vikki,Sir Kairos,Mam Liz and all the staff of Ischools and all the faculty of VSU treated us very nice.It ‘s just that we don’t feel like we don’t know about the things that have been discussed to us or we don’t even belong to the group because they are there to assist us.

Its been a very wonderful experience to be part of Camp Blog 2011.I hope that this will continue up to the next generation because it hepls many young journalists.

A very interesting day for a very interesting lesson to learn.A lesson that we will apply forever in our life, the Photojournalism.

First,we study our modules on Photo Story, just like what we did on the other day, which really helps us to gain knowledge on Photojournalism. At that moment,we learn many things such as Key Element in Photob Story Development,Categories of Photos, and Writing Photo Caption.

After that,we had a short but satisfying lecture with Mr.Jimmy Dominggo. He taught us about the techniques on how to capture a photo, the Power Expression-the content, the style, the message and Objectives of a Photojounalist.

Then,we proceed to the hightlight of the day,the fieldwork. We were all exited in going to Baybay Public Market. There,we applied our learnings in Mr.Dominggo’s lecture. It was really fun out there and I considered it as the most wonderful event that ever happen in Camp Blog 2011!

This day is a very unforgettable day cause we just make our very first online school paper. As we go on our training,I found out that modernization is fun. We construct our official online school paper and I realize that there is a really big difference between the traditional one.It is really better to have an online school paper,as what I’ve said before, because you can benefit more advantages than a printed one.n online school paper we can edit, beautify it more and posts article on it quickly unlike on what a traditional school paper can do. Modernization is fun but hard to deal with it.For now,we have our own online school publication, although it needs some improvement but at least we made it by ourselves and I’m proud of it.

What I learned from the self study modules?

It’s the second day of the Camp Blog 2011.Still,lectures are going on but today it has different style because we do it by ourselves using the provided modules and it is called Self Study.

There are many new things and ideas that I learn today.I learned that printed school papers and online news have similarities-such as to inform and entertain, they have both inverted pyramid, meaningful headlines and subheads, good lead, one paragraph and idea, accurate and complete facts-and differences-such as static vs.interactive, structured vs. conversational informat and text and images vs. multi-media content.

I also remembered that very catchy word “CAPOW”,which means Currency,Authority,Purpose,Objectivity and Writing styles and these are the 5 things to look for when writing online.

I also learned the “GSP”’not Girl Scout of the Philippines, but Grammar-set of rules that govern the composition of sentences, phrases and words in any given language-Spelling-the use of the correct letters and the order of these letters that form a word-and Punctuation marks-symbols that help in navigating through text and provide cues thtt inform the way we should stress words or inflect the reading.

Self Study is really helpful to us,especially to the new beginners like me.It leads us to a door full of knowledge.

What I Learned from the Lecture on Online Newspaper?
Camp Blog 2011 has just started, held at Visayas State University.Obviously,in this kind of seminar, lectures are expected and I learned so many from it.
My knowings about the school publication started to broaden-up when the lecture began. It is not really bad to have a printed school paper but there are some advantages that an online newspaper can make and these are some of the reasons why we need to have an online school paper than a printed one;(1)online school paper will be viewed by more readers than a printed one and,(2)online newspapers can be keep forever than a printed school papers.
I also learned about the history of the Internet and the world wide web and its purpose.Internet was made earlier than WWW,it was made in 1950’s while WWW was made for sharing purpose in the mid90’s.
After our very first lecture,we made our very first activity in which our writing skills is required. The questions focused on ourselves and it was easy for us to answer but still the lecturer found some corrections and I did not considered it as criticism cause I knew that it was for our own good. Those corrections served as our lessons in order to level-up our skills as a writer and pointers on how to make a better article. And that made the day!
