What I learned from the self study modules?
It’s the second day of the Camp Blog 2011.Still,lectures are going on but today it has different style because we do it by ourselves using the provided modules and it is called Self Study.
There are many new things and ideas that I learn today.I learned that printed school papers and online news have similarities-such as to inform and entertain, they have both inverted pyramid, meaningful headlines and subheads, good lead, one paragraph and idea, accurate and complete facts-and differences-such as static vs.interactive, structured vs. conversational informat and text and images vs. multi-media content.
I also remembered that very catchy word “CAPOW”,which means Currency,Authority,Purpose,Objectivity and Writing styles and these are the 5 things to look for when writing online.
I also learned the “GSP”’not Girl Scout of the Philippines, but Grammar-set of rules that govern the composition of sentences, phrases and words in any given language-Spelling-the use of the correct letters and the order of these letters that form a word-and Punctuation marks-symbols that help in navigating through text and provide cues thtt inform the way we should stress words or inflect the reading.
Self Study is really helpful to us,especially to the new beginners like me.It leads us to a door full of knowledge.
